Highlights of the POSH act- • The Act requires employers to conduct education and sensitization programs and develop policies against sexual harassment. • Every employer is required to constitute an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at each office or branch with 10 or more employees. • The Complaints Committees have the powers of civil courts for gathering evidence. • The inquiry process under the Act will be confidential. • Non-compliance of the law attracts penalties for employers. Sexual harassment of a person at workplace is unfortunately used as an oppressive tool; also most of the cases are not reported. If you see retrospectively there were only guidelines by the Supreme Court, however now we have an act in place. It’s the responsibility of every employer to ensure the act is implemented. Would be happy to contribute to this cause and facilitate a 3 hrs workshop on POSH in your premises & help to make your workplace a more secure environment
